Field Trips

MOM uses field trips as a way to incentivize students to apply effort towards their education. Those students that do the work and produce good results have the opportunity to go on these trips. Each destination is full of educational opportunities to advance the student’s education and expand their interest in possible careers.

The following field trips are being planned for 2020 and beyond:

  • Washington D.C.

This trip takes students to visit historical sites in D.C. Those sites might include The White House, The Capital Building, The Washington Monument and other monuments across the Capital Mall, and the newly opened Smithsonian Black History Museum

  • Gettysburg, VA

This trip takes students to visit the historic battlefields of Gettysburg. Students spend their time exploring the history and how this battle changed the tide of the Civil War. There is much to learn and in all the events during that time of conflict.

  • Silicon Valley, CA

This trip takes students to visit one of the most known technology centers of the United States. Students will visit companies like Google, Apple Computer, Facebook, Adobe and others.

Many MOM supporters are connected to different educational locations like these above through their work, relatives, and friends. If you have a connection to share with MOM to develop more field trip opportunities, please let us know. Mount Olive also needs donations to help deserving students that need financial assistance to attend.
